THE KING’S MAN is set to save the world once more

The new The King’s Man trailer has got masterly action, a high profile antagonist, and a protagonist whose characterisation is same as of in King’s Man: The Secret Service. Albeit it has got the accustomed King’s Man stuff, with many goosebump moments, it slightly feels to be a paper-thin premise that doesn’t pack a propitious plot.

The trailer doesn’t project anything new in this prequel. Set in early 20th century, The Kingsman, world’s first independent investigation agency, set out to stop a confederacy conspiring to ignite a war that would wipe out millions.

The plot doesn’t seem to be a new untold tale. Putting that under the limelight, The King’s Man will have to be brilliantly executed film with a tight, galloping plot. The trailer looks impressive but at the same time, adding nothing new to its usual layers, it deflates a bit. The characters look good and apt but slight derailing of script or any drawbacks in making may lead this ride to a dead end.

The first installation of Kingsman series, ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ was a brilliant one. The second installation lost the charm of the first film and descended our impression towards the franchise. Lying under such a blanket of negatives, the prequel and third installation will have to meet the quality of the first installation in order to regain people’s faith in the franchise.

The film stars Ralph Fiennes, Gemma Arterton, Rhys Ifans, Matthew Goode and many others. The film is directed by Matthew Vaughn, who also wrote the screenplay with Karl Gajdusek.

The film was initially set to release on November 15th, 2019, but later pushed to February 14th, 2020 and again postponed to September 18th, 2020.
